Consultations for your sick, poorly or injured pet

Our caring staff will provide your much loved pet with the best of care and will work diligently to get your pet back on the road to recovery.

Annual Health Check

All pets benefit from an annual health check. This usually comes into line with an annual vaccination. This is an ideal time to mention any concerns you may have with your pets health and wellbeing no matter how small you may feel that they are. As our pets get older monitoring for degenerative conditions with a simple blood test may be suggested. Regular checks and monitoring now allow us to give our pets a much longer and happier life.

Desexing

The health and behavioural benefits of desexing are numerous. Ask our staff at your next consult if you have any doubts about desexing your pet. We desex cats, dogs, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs and even not so miniature pigs. Your pet will be asked to arrive around 8.30am and will soon be sedated ready to go to surgery. Surgery is performed in the morning allowing plenty of time for a safe recovery. Modern anaesthetic protocols and pain relief often means your pet will bounce back quickly.

Surgery

All our vets are proficient at routine surgical procedures. We also perform more advanced surgeries. Richard has a special interest in both orthopaedic and reconstructive surgery. So that broken leg may well be repaired without the need for referral or that large rapidly growing lump may be removed safely without having to leave Stawell.

Fully equipped medical and surgical facilities

Our modern equipment includes:

• Digital radiography allowing us to easily view, store and forward your radiographs
• In house laboratory equipment allows us to quickly obtain pre anaesthetic or urgent laboratory results preventing delays in the treatment of your pet
• Well-equipped surgery and anaesthetic equipment allowing your pet to recover safe and quickly from whatever the surgical procedure they undertake
• We also offer ultrasound, ECG, blood pressure monitoring and even glaucoma monitoring

Dental

Our state of the art dental machines means that your pets bad breath will be smelling better in no time. Ask any of our staff about the health benefits of cleaning up those mucky teeth. A free dental check can be organised with our veterinary nurse, Jacinta.

Horse and large animal work

All our staff are capable and competent with performance horses, pleasure horses and livestock. Be confident in the fact that your horse, cow, alpaca or sheep will get the best of care in the unfortunate event of an illness or injury

Referral

We have a number of specialists that we consult with or refer to, in the case of more advanced or difficult cases. Be secure in the knowledge that we have some of the most talented veterinarians only a phone call away if they are needed.
